Fr. Clair Boes' First Holy Mass

Ramsdorf, Germany, April 1965

In the Town of his Forefathers Clair Boes Celebrates his First Mass

A young American celebrated yesterday his first solemn high Mass in Ramsdorf.  Clair L. Boes, born on 16 November 1938 in Breda-Iowa, USA, and ordained after four years of theology study at the Canisianum* in Innsbruck, returned to the homeland of his forefathers and to the place where his ancestors already silent in prayer remain, to celebrate his first Holy Mass.  His distant relatives as well as a large number of Ramsdorf residents celebrated the First Holy Mass with the new priest yesterday.  Clair L. Boes was assisted by Father Dresjan.  The young newly ordained priest, who after one semester in Innsbruck, wants to return to America next year to be active in pastoral work.  Our picture shows the young celebrant (picture middle) with his parents, the Ramsdorf clergy as well as near and distant relatives.
