M. Sigmunda Notes Anniversary
The Breda News, June, 1969
Sister M. Sigmunda, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Nieland, celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of her
religious profession at a solemn high mass on June 18, at LaCrosee,
Wis.
Sister Sigmunda attended St. Bernard's school in
Breda. Since entering the religious life she has been in the teaching
profession. Sr. Sigmunda taught at various places in Wisconsin,
and also at West Point, and New Vienna, Ia. She taught English
in the high school at Bozeman, Montana, and at present is teaching
at Marycrest High School, Spokane, Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nieland, and Mrs. Paul Nieland
went to LaCarosse, Wis., last Monday to attend the festivities.
Sister M. Sigmunda, Sr. M. Danielle, and Sr. M. Wananda, accompanied
them home. Sr. Sigmunda and her companion, Sr. Wananda are spending
several weeks in Carroll and Dedham.
Picnic Dinner
The Mrs. F. J. Nieland family held a picnic dinner
Monday at the Memorial Park in honor of Sister M. Sigmunda and
her companion Sister M. Winanda.
Those who attended were: Mrs. F. J Nieland, Mr.
and Mrs. Marion Whitcher and family, of West Union, Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold Nieland and family, Auburn, Mr. and Mrr. Norbert Nieland,
Amos Epson, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reineke, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Vonnahme.
Unable to attend were: the A.J. Poeppe family, and Richard Nieland
family.
Guests in the Ben Nieland home June 30th,
in honor of Sister M. Sigmunda were: Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bierl
and family, St. Benedict; Mrs. and Mrs. Paul Nieland and family,
Wall Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Evers and family, Sac City; Mr. and
Mrs. Cyril Nieland and family, Sac City.
