Funeral Services Held For R. D. Steinkamp

Funeral services were largely attended in St. John’s Church Arcadia, at 9:30 a.m. Friday for Raymond D. Steinkamp, 39, of Marion Ohio, who died of a hear attack January 12 at Marion, where he had lived for seven years. Requiem mass was offered by the Rev. Louis Anthofer of Carroll, who also officiated at graveside rites in St. John’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Steinkamp, Wall Lake; Laverdos Ries, Gray; LaVerne Steinkamp, Westside; Virgil Neumayer, Elmer Bruening and Monte Damm, Breda. Military rites were conducted by members of the American Legion Post of Arcadia. Me. Steinkamp was a navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Frank Steinkamp, Arcadia, two brothers, Melvin and Lorne Steinkamp, Arcadia; four sisters, Mrs. Harold (Leota) Eich, Denison; Mrs. Rollin (Cleone) Evers, Boone; Mrs. Wilfred (Virginia) Wernimont, Massena, and Mrs. Larry [Neva] Stoffers, Orange, Calif., and one son, Charles, 11 years old, of Norwich, Conn. Charles attended the funeral rites.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Merlin.

Many relatives and friend from here attended the rites.
