Wilma "Jean" Pudenz, 73, of Lake View died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake.

Visitation started at 4 this afternoon at the church. The family will be present from 6 to 8 tonight.

Farber and Otteman Funeral Home of Wall Lake is in charge of arrangements.

A daughter of Julius and Myrtle (Grabner) Boes, she was born June 17, 1935, at Carroll, was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda, grew up in Breda and and attended St. Bernard School there, graduating in 1953. She then studied music education at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City.

She and Merle Pudenz were married Jan. 25, 1955, at St. Bernard Church.

The Pudenzes resided at Lake View. Mrs. Pudenz was a co-owner and secretary for Pudenz Popcorn Co.

She was member, choir director, cantor and CCD instructor and belonged to the Ladies Guild at St. Bernard Parish. She also participated in Meals on Wheels, Country Chords, Ecumenical Community Choir, Lake View Garden Club and the Foresters. She enjoyed music, painting, Indian culture, gardening and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Merle, of Lake View; nine children and their spouses: Jeff and Nancy Pudenz of Breda, Carmen and Dean Reising of Des Moines, Jan and Lori Pudenz of Canton, S.D., Juke and Lisa Pudenz of Lake View, Jerry and Anne Marie Pudenz of Lewisburg, Ohio, Jay Pudenz of Kansas City, Mo., Jody and Becky Pudenz of Lewisburg, Ohio, Ann and Chris Toft of Arcadia and Jaime and Crystal Pudenz of Lake View; 30 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters and their husbands: Ardys and Ray Collins of Scranton, Mary Jo and Bob Lloyd of Leawood, Kan., Audrey and Terry Johnson of Bode and Myriel Boes of Omaha, Neb.

Mrs. Pudenz was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Norbert and Elenore Pudenz; and a grandson, Nathan Pudenz
